St. James's Gate Crashers come from the an area  off the south quays of Dublin.   This was close to the western entrance to the city and this is where their  legendary  tales of travel,  playing music,  dancing , singing  and their passionate live shows first took shape.   

Dubliner Killian Donnelly born  in the maternity ward on James's Street has kicked the cobbled streets of Smithfield and  played the energy filled  alleys and arches of Dublin.    The mean fiddler Mike Bruinsma was raised on Strauss, Brahms, Beethoven before becoming immersed in all things musical celtic, hiphop, rock, bluegrass & pop.    Banjo Sjoerd  was an avid Dubliners fan from  the age of eight. Barney McKenna was his idol.    The progression to celtic rock was an obvious path.     Mike & Sjoerd played together for over fifteen years in their Celtic Rock band before taking different journeys.   In 2022 the universe aligned and the GateCrashers were  born.        

Move swiftly into the present day and future the Gate Crashers have evolved into a legendary band of minstrels who dive effortlessly into their musical love of celtic rhythms and legendary pop classics.    Their meandering journey has enabled them to  acquire the thrill of celebration with an array of  musical genres.   Feel the energy of  music whatever the genre.  Great music  can move you and stir your soul.  Your life should be  a celebration,  a release from the mundane,  a freedom to sing your heart out as loud as you dare.   Don't be afraid of  life !
